To ensure their longevity, our Kumalong collars and leads are made from only the highest quality materials. Metal components are selected for quality, strength and durability, so you don't have to worry about a failing snap clip or D-rings that bend, even with the strongest dog. All clasps, clips, D-rings and O-rings are made of the highest quality metal alloy available, and joints are welded for added strength and safety. 	Poylypropylene Webbing Polypropylene webbing is the fabric we prefer for our collars and head halters. Polypropylene (nylon) webbing is extremely strong, smooth, durable, and stretch-resistant. 	Brushed Polyester Webbing Our Kumalong leads are made of brushed polyester webbing. This brushed poly is also strong, durable and stretch-resistant. However, we find that the brushed poly is far softer and gentler on the hands. The brushed polyester fibres are woven into a dense, substantial fabric that has a warm, soft feel similar to that of cotton. It's a bit heavier in weight than its polypropylene counterpart, but your hands will appreciate the softness after a long walk. View these products in our online shop »

	Our Collar and Lead Sets Our ideal collar and lead combination would be our polypropylene collar (for your dog's comfort), and a brushed polyester lead (for your comfort). In fact, that's the combination we originally offered, and we still tend to choose it for everyday use with our own dogs. There is, however, a slight aesthetic hitch to our favorite combo: colour. Dyes are absorbed differently by these two fabrics, with the polyproylene colours usually a little lighter and brighter than those of the brushed polyester. It can be difficult to get an exact match -- for example, the tone of a red collar may be noticeably different from that of a red lead. And from dye lot to dye lot, there can be subtle variations that become quite pronounced when items are placed next to each other. Most of the time, for most of our customers, it just doesn't matter. Like us, they quickly grew used to the colour, weight, and feel of the polypropylene collar and brushed poly lead, and continue to order the same as replacements when they eventually wear out. (Dogs aren't the only creatures of habit!) Still, as we all know, there are times when appearance does matter: you've attended meticulously to every other detail.
